George J. Fuchs, III, MD
Professor of Pediatrics and Chief, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition University of Kentucky College of Medicine and Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Dr. Fuchs performed his undergraduate and medical studies at the University of Missouri, Pediatric residency and postgraduate fellowships in Geographic Medicine and Pediatric Gastroenterology-Nutrition at Tuft’s New England Medical Center and Pediatric Infectious Disease and Pediatric Gastroenterology-Nutrition at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Fuchs is past Chair, GI Committee of the Autism Treatment Network and has been involved in health and nutrition policy working with the World Health Organization and World Bank on malnutrition, diarrheal disease, and low birth weight, a member of the International Expert Consensus Group on the compositional requirements of infant formula to support the development of a Codex Aliment Arius standard, and the NIH on food allergy, among others. He is past Chair, Nutrition Committee and on the Executive Counsel of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and is currently on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.
For all parents, dealing with this month’s meeting topic can create some anxiety. For parents of children identified on the spectrum this problem can be magnified by communication issues. Join us as we learn what our loved ones experience and discuss some recommended strategies for addressing these important life problems.
