This Presentation will address the following topics:

  • A Brief review of diagnostic criteria for common disorders (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorders)
  • Discuss how a child with a diagnosis may qualify for services within the school system
  • Pros and Cons of receiving an evaluation from a private professional versus an evaluation from the school system.

Debra Huss is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Kentucky. She currently works at MindPsi Psychological Services Center, a private practice in Lexington, KY. She provides diagnostic evaluations, individual and family therapy, and group therapy to address a wide range of behavioral and emotional disorders for children and adults.
Brandon Huss is a Certified School Psychologist for Jessamine County Schools. He has been a School Psychologist for twelve years, nine of which have been in Jessamine County. Brandon has experience in many areas of school psychology, including evaluating students with special needs, creating and implementing behavioral support plans, supporting teachers and staff who work with special needs students, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and Response to Intervention (RtI). He currently works at Red Oak Elementary and East Jessamine Middle.
