The PLAY Project was created by Dr.  Richard Solomon, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician, to be an affordable early intervention program for young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. It is a relationship based approach that focuses on equipping parents to effectively engage their child during daily routines. Kirsten M. Brown, OTR/L, is currently the only certified PLAY Project consultant in Kentucky. Kirsten has been using the research based PLAY Project strategies in her work with children within the Kentucky First Steps early intervention program since 2010. Kirsten will be sharing information about the PLAY Project and also videos of parents working with their children using PLAY Project strategies. A First Steps parent that Kirsten is currently working with will also be present to share her experiences.
