How to save with STABLE Kentucky Accounts- Samara Heavrin-Director
STABLE Kentucky is an initiative that Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball put forward in December 2016. STABLE Kentucky is Kentucky’s ABLE plan that allows individuals with disabilities the ability to save and invest up to $15,000 per year without losing government benefits such as Medicaid or SSI. Kentucky has partnered with the Ohio STABLE Account program to make this possible for Kentuckians at no cost.
Samara Heavrin, a Leitchfield, Kentucky native, is the Director of the STABLE Kentucky Initiative, and Unclaimed Property Division for Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball. Samara graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2014 with a degree in Advertising and minor in Graphic Design. After graduation, Samara interned for U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) in his Washington, D.C. office. In January of the following year, Samara joined U. S. Senator Rand Paul’s (KY) staff, also in Washington, D.C., as Staff Assistant. She was quickly promoted to Executive Assistant and Scheduler to the Senator. After nearly three years in D.C., Samara returned home to Kentucky to join Treasurer Allison Ball’s staff in Frankfort, serving in her current capacity as Director.
