Stephen Applegate is a Certified Psychologist who has worked for the Bluegrass Regional MH/MR Board, Inc. for over 19 years, primarily with children and adolescents.  He is the Regional Children’s Program Director for the Board.  Programs under his direct responsibility include 3 Bluegrass IMPACT programs, the Bluegrass Family Preservation Program and the Bluegrass Therapeutic Foster Care and Crisis Stabilization Program.  Prior to his current position, he was the Program Director for the Bluegrass IMPACT program for 10 years, covering 6 counties of the 17-county region. Stephen lives in Versailles with his wife and two daughters.

The Bluegrass Regional MH/MR Board, Inc. is the largest community mental health center in the nation covering 17 counties of the Bluegrass region including:  Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford Counties.  The services provided includes Consultation, Outpatient Mental Health services, Child and Adult Psychiatric Services, Intensive Outpatient Mental Health services, Crisis Services, Adult Mental Health Case Management Services, Intensive In-home services, Child Therapeutic foster care services, Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit, MR/DD day programming, and MR/DD residential services, Supports for Community Living services for MR/DD clients.

Response to the Bluegrass Autism Symposium a Great Success!

Plan to attend the meetings in 2006. Planned topics include Autism and Local Law Enforcement, Medical Interventions, Biochemical Issues in Autism, Becoming an Advocate for your Child, Access to the General Curriculum, Behavioral Therapies, Family Financial Planning and other relevant issues. The ASBG meetings are always the last Monday in every month except for December.

Grants are available to any member who wishes to attend any Autism related conference or workshop. Upcoming conferences and workshops are listed on the ASBG list server.
