The research project on "Nutrition and Children with Autism/PDD" with the UK Nutrition & Food Sciences Department is underway. We have been meeting with families to collect initial data for the study.

If you are interested in a Nutritional Assessment for your child and have not yet signed up to do the study, please do so. It is not too late.

We are interested in children up to age 18 years. Those children on special diets such as the gluten/casein-free diet are also welcome to participate. It is a good opportunity to learn which nutrients your child may need added or reduced in his/her diet, what are the drug nutrient interactions if your child is on medication, and which food textures are appropriate for children sensitive to certain food textures.

The study includes an intervention model that gives you the benefit of Medical Nutrition Therapy with a dietitian. Call Brigette Hires at 257-4146 and we will send you consent forms and all the details about the study.
